New Monkey Island by Ron Gilbert officially announced!

The moment we have all been waiting for is finally here! A new Monkey Island by Ron Gilbert was announced today. 

It will be designed and written by Ron Gilbert and Dave Grossman. Michael Land, Peter McConnel and Clint Bajakian will be responsible, once again, for the music and Dominic Armato will return as the voice of Guybrush Threepwood. The art director will be Rex Crowle, known for the LittleBigPlanet game.

The game will be called "Return to Monkey Island" and picks up where Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge left off. According to David Fox, lead programmer, the game uses a new engine created by Ron.

Ron Gilbert also clarified one more thing about the game on Twitter:

MI3 doesn't go out of canon. We were very careful about that. Murray is in this game.
